The first Dody Norban Memorial Blood Drive was a great success!   We secured 55 usable pints of blood, which exceeded our goal of 50 by 5 pints. This was a great tribute to Dody. Thanks to all who volunteered their time and efforts on this Drive, and thanks to those who came out to donate.

Who We Are

To Life Columbus! (TLC), formerly the Jewish Community Blood Donor Council of Columbus, is comprised of dozens of individual volunteers from Columbus’s Jewish community.  We do not officially represent any institutions, but our affiliations are as diverse as our backgrounds.  TLC volunteers affiliate with Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, and Reconstructionist congregations as well as a variety of Jewish schools, agencies, and community centers.  Some of us volunteer because blood donations have saved our lives or the lives of our loved ones.  Others help out because of our commitment to the Jewish community and to all residents of central Ohio.

We have no paid staff or office; rather the Columbus Jewish Foundation maintains our budget and serves as our official address.

Though we work with Jewish institutions, many of our regular donors are not Jewish.  Regardless of your background, we welcome your participation as a donor or volunteer!

What We Do
We work with the American Red Cross to help organize a series of blood drives each year.  Our role is to secure a date and location for each drive, recruit donors, and coordinate the volunteer force at each drive.  The Red Cross helps us identify eligible donors and provides the nursing staff who screen individuals and collect blood.
